Full Text

The body of Morris Griffith, Jr., who disappeared March 31 last from Middle Granville, N. Y., was found last week in a slate quarry near Bennington. The body of the horse he was driving and the buggy were also found at the bottom of the quarry. It is supposed that the young man was driving along this lonely road and in the dark the horse fell into the quarry, dragging the carriage and occupant with him. Strange to say, his mother had always been under the impression that he had fallen into this very quarry and the day following the disappearance went in that direction hoping to find some trace but the snow and rain had covered up the tracks.
