Full Text

Extract of a letter from London, May 20.

'It is reported that the ships of war in the river board every ship that goes down, and inquire if they have got any of the rioters on board, or any who have in consequence of the late disturbances got their wages raised; and that they press all such into his Majesty's service, and supply the merchantmen with sailors from the ships of war. This, and other prudent steps taken by the Lord Mayor, and others, has put an end to all the riots and confusions which have for some time prevailed in this city and neighbourhood, and business is beginning now to go on as usual.'
