Vegetables are Being Injured by Plant Lice.

Small green plant lice are now attacking vegetable crops and may do a large amount of harm in a short time unless destroyed. Potatoes, tomatoes and cabbage are the main vegetables being attacked.

These small green plant lice are usually found on the under-sides of the leaves and on the more tender portions of the stem. They injure the plant by inserting their beaks through the rind and sucking out the sap. They do not consume the foliage.

Spraying these lice so thoroughly with a mixture of nicotine, soap and water, that every louse will be well wetted, will destroy them.

Mix 2 teaspoonfuls of 40 per cent. nicotine with 1 gallon of water in which 1/2 ounce of whale-oil or laundry soap has been dissolved. Apply the mixture as a misty spray so thoroughly that all the lice will be well wetted.
