VOICE OF MARYLAND.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLICAN NOMINATION.
The Whigs of Maryland—the real Democratic party—the bone and sinew of the State, by their delegates in Convention assembled, have nominated General WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON, of Ohio, as a Candidate for President of the United States, and the Hon. JOHN TYLER, of Virginia, for Vice President.
Notwithstanding our high estimation of the talents and long tried public services of Gen. Harrison, we had other preferences for this important and responsible office, but we yield them to the voice of the majority, and shall go for the regular nomination with all our energies; and we call upon our political brethren throughout the State, to discard all minor considerations, and unite, heart and hand, in support of the Ticket that has thus been put forth by the Democracy of Maryland.
General Harrison is an honest man, a true patriot, and a veteran in the civil and military service of his country. He has received the nomination of two Conventions in Pennsylvania, and will carry that State by 50,000 majority, and in the language of a distinguished member of Congress, from Kentucky, "he will carry all before him in the West, from the Alleghenies to the Rocky Mountains."
Governor TYLER is a gentleman of acknowledged abilities—has been Governor of Virginia, is now a Senator in Congress, and is respected and honored for his integrity and staunch republican principles.
With such candidates, the good people of Maryland have only to march on in solid column and victory is certain by an overwhelming majority.—Baltimore Patriot.
