They write from Servia, that the Count de Seckendorf has detached the Field Marshal, Count de Khevenhuller, with 6 Regiments of Horse, 100 Hussars, 20 Companies of Grenadiers, and 4 Field Pieces, to invest Widdin. Colonel Lentulus, whom the Count de Seckendorff sent before-hand with a Detachment of Horse, to view the Passes into the Province of Servia, writes Word, that the Turks had abandoned the Town and Fort of Novi Passera; whereupon he advanced afterwards to the Frontiers of Albania and Macedonia, where he found the Inhabitants disposed to take up Arms against the Porte, if they had but the German Militia to support them.
