Plan New School For West Side

A delegation headed by Kenneth P. Tate of Willard School parents was assured that plans were drawn for a new school building to be located on a site about halfway between Willard and Wogaman schools. This new school is to take care of the over-crowded conditions at both schools.

Another pertinent issue was placed before the board, that of polluted air in the six basement rooms, which was caused by leaky furnaces.

The board was reminded by Mr. Tate that surveys of 1940-1945 had recommended replacement of the Willard School. Carlson said, it was hard to keep hot air furnaces from leaking some of their fumes. Six new furnaces were installed in the school in 1944 and all school furnaces are regularly checked for operating efficiency.
