More Burning of County Records.—The offices of the Circuit and County Court Clerks of Meigs county (Tennessee) were entered on the 5th inst. by some villain or villains, and all the books and papers belonging to the Circuit Court were burned. We learn from the Watchman that thus far nothing has transpired to throw any light upon the transaction, and that suspicion as yet rests upon no one. The citizens of Athens held a meeting in relation to this disgraceful affair, and adopt resolutions expressive of their indignation at the act.—Knoxville Post.
