Full Text

The Field Boom.

New York, April 26.-The Express of this evening says: Yesterday's Sun contained a very interesting biographical sketch of Judge Field. Judge Field is a splendid specimen of American manhood. There is no question but he would make a grand president of the Andrew Jackson school were he elected to the office; and he would be elected were he nominated, and would take the office were he chosen.

It has been surmised that he is Tilden's choice, and therefore not to be thought of. Tilden, in trying to control Field in the white house, would cut a far more ridiculous figure than poor old Mrs. Partington trying to sweep back the Atlantic ocean with her broom.
