The New York State Campaign.

Commenting upon the nomination of Gen. John A. Dix for Governor by the New York State Republican Convention, the Times, the Tribune and the Herald each express the opinion that it is the strongest nomination that could have been made by the Republicans. The World says that the resolution of the State Republican Convention inviting Democratic votes and the nomination of Gen. Dix as a candidate for Governor, amount to an abject appeal for Democratic assistance. It says that there never was a worse beaten ticket than this one will be, headed by General Dix, on the false pretense that he is a Democrat.
