Renewed effort is being expended by the League of Women Voters to promote legislation providing for two chronic hospitals in Maryland, officers of the Maryland league stated today. In a letter to Governor O'Conor, State League President Mrs. O. Harold Williamson said, "The Board of Directors of the Maryland League of Women Voters, which includes the presidents of all the county leagues, has asked me to write to you expressing its determination to go ahead with the chronic hospital program although the opinions from groups opposed to the present building of the hospitals have been carefully considered."
Members of the Montgomery County Mental Hygiene Society have passed a resolution backing the proposal, Mrs. George W. Young, president announced.
Mrs. G. Minier Hostetler, county league head, in a statement today said that the County League of Women Voters are going to push the Chronic Hospital Bill to the limit.
