Shooting Affair.--On last Tuesday night, as a party of American Citizens of African Descent, were returning from a social gathering, a dispute arose between two of the young men as to the honor of escorting a much admired fair one. Said fair one had given her consent to be accompanied home, to a youth at the social gathering aforesaid, while, in truth, she had come there in company with another youth, who was intending to return with her. On leaving, the fair one, naturally took the proffered arm of her escort. when the youth who had received the promise, followed to assert what he supposed his prior claim, thus leading to words; and having received the impression that the other had, or would use, a razor, drew a revolver and fired, but fortunately without effect.
The parties were taken before Squire Stubbs, and the young man of the revolver bound over to the May term of Court. He gave bail.
