Full Text

Some late advices from Spain mention considerable disturbances that prevailed in the city of Madrid the latter part of January. A Corregidor had given a printer leave to strike off a few translated copies of the French Constitution. He printed off, however, about six thousand, which were greedily bought up.—Orders were sent from the court to seize the printer, which were obstructed by the people, who rose in mobs; and it is said the count Florida Blanca narrowly escaped the severest effects of their indignation.
