Sweethearts Die Together

Dover, Del., Feb. 20.—Foster E. Emery, twenty-four, and Miss May Leager, twenty, were found dead this afternoon in an open pavilion in Richardson Park, just north of here. It was evidently a suicide pact. The couple had drunk whiskey containing strychnine, and then the young man shot the girl and ended his own life. A pistol with four cartridges empty was clutched in his hand. The couple were lying on the floor of an open pavilion facing each other. They had been sweethearts for a year and had frequently quarreled, Emery being jealous. Two bullets were fired into the girl's body, one in the breast and another in the face. The suicide and slayer sent two bullets through his own brain.
