Fish for Vermont Waters.

State Fish and Game Commissioner J. W. Titcomb of St. Johnsbury was in Burlington Thursday to arrange certain matters relating to the trial of Loren Hill of Huntington for the illegal killing of a deer and to procure the inside finishings for the new superintendent's house at the government hatchery, two miles from the station. The house is built with an appropriation of $3500 from the government and will be occupied by Mr. Titcomb and his family. It is now nearly completed.

Commissioner Titcomb reports that each of the hatcheries is filled with fish spawn, which will be transferred to the state waters as soon as the season permits. The distribution will begin in the southern part of the state. A recent consignment is that of 100,000 steel head trout from California. These fish have been tried in Vermont and are known to flourish in our waters. There are also a large number of land-locked salmon and salmon trout to be put out this season.
