In reference to the late suicide of P. W. Grayson, Esq. of Texas, the Knoxville Register remarks: "A letter was found in his room, addressed to Mr. Mays, (in whose house the bloody tragedy was enacted,) in which Col. Grayson gives, as his reason for perpetrating the suicide, that he had once labored under a temporary mental derangement, during which time he had been confined—that he felt symptoms of a return of the malady, and rather than endure its miseries again, he preferred to put an end to his existence."
