At the regular meeting of Central Labor Union held at Labor temple last night a resolution was adopted asking the City Electric company to substitute men for women operatives on trolley cars as fast as vacancies occur. The union has no intention of demanding the removal of the women from cars at once, but merely asks that men be given these places when women quit. The employment of women was resorted to as a war measure, when male help became scarce, the union men said last night and now that most of the soldiers have returned to civil life and many men are unable to find employment every possible effort should be made to find work for them.
The union also adopted a resolution, with but two or three dissenting votes, favoring the manufacture of beer containing not over 2.75 per cent alcohol, and light wines.

At the regular meeting of Central Labor Union held at Labor temple, a resolution was adopted asking the City Electric company to substitute men for women operatives on trolley cars as fast as vacancies occur, without demanding immediate removal of women. This was due to wartime employment of women when male help was scarce, and now with returning soldiers facing unemployment, efforts should prioritize jobs for men. Additionally, a resolution favoring the manufacture of beer containing not over 2.75 per cent alcohol and light wines was adopted with but two or three dissenting votes.
