Boston, July 28.

The Centinel was not exactly correct in its statement yesterday, that the governor had refused granting any more permits to import flour, though we have no doubt its Editor was told so.

The truth is, that it has been thought at Head Quarters, that licenses had been too generally granted; and it was so suggested to his Excellency, who has made some statements on the subject, and in the mean time continues to grant them, himself, upon proper application of respectable citizens, and when satisfied of the probability of the want of the article, at the place of importation....Boston Gaz (a fed. paper)
