Statistics of the First Nebraska Volunteers.
Washington, Aug. 8.—General Shafter today reported to the war department by telegraph the following field returns:
'General field returns, First Nebraska: Total commissioned, 46; promoted from ranks, 18; resigned, 15; discharged, 2; killed and died of wounds, 3; remaining to be mustered out, 44.
Total enlisted, 1,285; total enlisted joined regiment, 1,216; discharged, 325; killed and died of wounds, 33; died of disease, 25; drowned, 1; deserted, 2; transferred, 5; remaining to be mustered out, 855.
General field return, Tenth Pennsylvania: Total commissioned, 35; promoted from the ranks, 5; resigned, 6; died of disease, 1; remaining to be mustered out, 33. Total enlisted, 876, discharged, 106; killed and died of wounds, 15; died of disease, 6; transferred, 16; remaining to be mustered out, 733.'
