Washington, D. C., June 5.—Rumors of a special cabinet meeting called for to-day, and of the announced intention of the President to call Congress in extra session before September 15 have been most industriously circulated. Numerous inquiries based upon special dispatches to this effect were made this morning at the white house, but without eliciting any confirmation of the rumors. If any such intentions as those attributed are entertained the President and his chief advisors seem not to be aware of the facts.
