Since the nomination of Gen. Harrison, elections have taken place in eleven States, throwing 102 electoral votes. Of these, the whigs have swept Connecticut, Rhode Island, Virginia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Indiana and Kentucky, by overwhelming and undisputed majorities. Missouri, Illinois and Alabama, States always conceded to Van Buren, have been shaken to their very centre so as to make it doubtful for whom they will vote in November. New Hampshire stands alone in her ignominy. Look at the following table, ye minions of power, and tremble.
