On Monday the 15th of July the Merchants of Dublin, in full Guild assembled, voted the Freedom of that respectable Corporation to the Right Honourable Brass Crosby, Lord Mayor of the City of London, and to John Wilkes and Richard Oliver, Esquires, Aldermen, to be presented to them in Silver Boxes, as a Testimony of Approbation of their Conduct in opposing the Violence of the House of Commons, by discharging the Printers who were taken up by Virtue of the Speaker's Warrant, issued in Consequence of a Vote of that House; and also for showing that a Royal Proclamation is not the Law of the Land, nor sufficient to imprison any of the Subjects of Great Britain.
