TURIN. April 23.

The King received a few Days ago a Letter from the Sacred College, wherein the Cardinals desire his Majesty would be pleased to consent that the Ceremonial to be observed with them may be definitively settled, and in Consequence to order his Ambassadors and Ministers at foreign Courts to yield them Precedency wherever they meet together.

This Letter was accompanied by a Brief from the Pope, recommending the same Thing to the King. At the same Time his Majesty was informed, that just such another Letter and Brief had been sent to the other Catholic Courts of Europe. The Answer made by the King to the Court of Rome contains in Substance, That he cannot on his Part come to any Resolution about an Affair of this Nature, since it equally concerns the other Roman Catholic Courts; and therefore he will wait for their Resolution this Claim of the Cardinals, in order to declare his Sentiments afterwards as he shall see Occasion.
