Full Text

The Hartford Press learns from the father of Brigadier General Robert O. Tyler, whose leg was shattered in one of the battles near Cold Harbor, that he is now at Philadelphia, at his brother's, and his wound is doing well. He is now able to ride out, and expects to come home in a week or two. The bone above the ankle was shattered, and the surgeon proposed to amputate his foot on the field; but he drew a pistol and told his aids he would shoot them if they allowed it to be done. So he saved his foot.
