Postmaster Price is in receipt of a letter from L. W. Hubbell an attorney of Springfield, Missouri, asking if any one knew of a person residing in or near Grand Junction in the past few years by name John D. Gallagher.
The letter states that it is important for the writer to know if he is living and if he is dead to know the name of his widow or other heirs. He states also in the letter that parties residing at Del Norte and Alamosa stated that the man Gallagher resided near here.
It is evident that John D. Gallagher is an heir to some property, else there would not be such effort to find him.
As he was a Grand army man the letter was referred to Comrade Charles W. Steele for investigation.
