GAVE THE HEIRS $2,000.

The Ending of an Important Suit at Reidsville.

The suit of Robert Drummond, of this city, against Mrs. D. E. Morris at Reidsville, was settled last Saturday night at Rockingham court. Mrs. Morris was tried and acquitted about a year ago of the murder of her husband, D. E. Morris. The suit was instigated by the heirs of Mr. Morris for the recovery of his property, the heirs claiming that Mrs. Morris was not entitled to the property, from the fact that there was some doubt as to the genuineness of the will, and also the insurance policy in the Mutual Benefit company of Newark, N. J.

The court gave the heirs $2,000 and ordered that they should pay the expense of the suit.

The insurance company gave $1,000 claiming that Mr. Morris had made false statements to secure the policy.
