Full Text

Extract of a Letter, dated July 26, 1765, from a Gentleman in London, who was (unjustly) by some, supposed to be the Author of a vile, infamous, senseless pamphlet, lately published in London, entitled, The Claim of the Colonies to an Exemption from Taxation by the British Parliament, consider'd, &c.

"If the present Set of Ministry continue, we Shall have some Friends to America among them, sufficient to encourage an Attempt, at least, to get some of our Burthens lightened, among which the Stamp-Act repealed, in which, at you will not take it amiss, if I am very industrious: for I know your present Interest will not weigh a Moment with you, in competition with so great a Public Good."
