SALEM, Ore., (AP) Former Secretary of the Interior Douglas McKay is suffering from pneumonitis, his physician disclosed Saturday.

The disease is a "patchy type of pneumonia," said the doctor, who refused use of his name.

McKay, a former Oregon governor, has been in a hospital here for more than a week.

McKay currently is head of the United States section of the International Joint Commission, a U.S.-Canadian group seeking to resolve water use disputes.
