Albany, Dec. 16.-Lieutenant Governor Campbell, Judge Lindley and John G. Prather, a member of the Democratic National Committee, John W. Martin, a Cleveland elector, and John G. Priest of the National Advisory Committee, all of Missouri, called on Cleveland to suggest the name of James A. Broadhead of St. Louis for Attorney General of the United States. The gentlemen afterwards made a tour of the capital. When Senator Bayard came to Albany he paid his respects to President-elect Cleveland. It is understood that he left for home with the assurance that he could make a choice of any position in the Cabinet and he would receive the appointment. It is said on good authority that after having duly deliberated over the matter, the Delaware Senator sent a note to the Governor, which was received yesterday, indicating his preference for the portfolio of Secretary of the Treasury. It is rumored that he will be accordingly appointed.
