Full Text

Extract of a Letter from on Board the Yarmouth, off Ushant, June 4.

I am going to relate a very bold Action, which was performed on the
eve of last Month by Capt. Cockburn, in the Hunter Cutter, a little
Thing, with only 40 Men, and a few Swivels. He kept loitering about
Brest Bay, and at Night went in with his Boat and only five Men; when,
after having rowed round all the Men of War, and taken a particular Account of
them, he cut the Cable of a French Snow, boarded her, and carried her
away from among the Men of War. She was loaded with Wine, which
has been distributed to all the Fleet. We have got 18 Hogsheads; and
Yesterday, after having taken every Thing out of her, she was sunk.
