Ninety years old today, John McWilliams, dean of pioneers in this section, and perhaps oldest individual on the Channel is able to pleasantly enjoy his birthday and felicitations tendered by numerous friends. Celebrating the event Miss Myrtle Berry will entertain with a dinner party in his honor at her home on Front Street tonight.

Fifty-six years ago, on the S. S. Idaho, one of the earliest ships plying regularly between Puget Sound and Alaska, McWilliams first came to the Territory. He landed on the Channel on January 16, 1886, and he has been here continuously since.
