WAS STRUCK BY ENGINE
NARROWLY ESCAPED DEATH

After crossing and recrossing the Rock Island tracks and working around engines for the past fifteen years Theodore Biehler, through an act of thoughtlessness stepped in front of an incoming passenger train at Herington last Tuesday evening about 5 o'clock, and was knocked violently to the ground, landing several feet from where he stood when the train hit him. He is blacksmith in the shops at Herington and has been employed by the company in that capacity for fifteen years.
