BEAUTY FIGHT
East versus West!
With the crown going to the East—so far as football is concerned as the result of the New Year's Day Rose Bowl game—
Hollywood today learned that it will witness another forthcoming battle.
But this will be between beauty, legs and brains, and instead of being played on a gridiron will be waged within the walls of Paramount's Hollywood studios.
Earl Carroll, picker of beauties and famous for them in his New York "Vanities," will be referee.
For today it was learned that Carroll will bring with him his eastern "eleven" of beautiful girls when he flies to Hollywood to aid in the production of Paramount's "Murder at the Vanities," for which he wrote the original story.
His eastern "team" of charmers will be hand-picked by him from the bevy of girls now in his current "Vanities."
And when he lands in Hollywood within the next month he is scheduled to comb the film capital for the "all-western" combination of dancing-singing girls.
Carroll, regarded as America's foremost judge of femininity, then plans to put the two "teams" into "Murder at the Vanities,"
matching them in scenes to settle the long-disputed question of which seaboard produces the most beautiful and talented girls.
Word of the plan has spread rapidly along the Hollywood grapevine and Paramount already has received requests from a flood of aspirants to the western "team."
