PRIVATEERS AGAINST MEXICO.

We find the following rumor in the Philadelphia Times of yesterday:

A verbal report, from what we consider good authority in Washington, informs us that a Letter of Marque has been granted to a son of Senator Dix. An urgent application has been made for a similar favor, by a gentleman in this city, who was educated in the U. S. Navy, served his country with credit in the Florida war, and is perfectly acquainted with the rivers, harbors and coasts of Mexico, the Spanish Main and West India islands. He informs us that his crew is already picked, and that he will sail within ten days after he receives a commission. The crew consists entirely of young Philadelphians. They will go out in a small, light-draught Baltimore clipper, mounting one long eighteen; having for small arms, revolving pistols, boarding-pikes, cutlasses and rifles.
