KANSAS CITY NEWSPAPER EDITOR VISITS

C. A. Franklin, editor of the K. C. Call, accompanied by Mrs. Franklin and Roy Garvin, advertising manager of the same newspaper, and Mrs. Garvin, arrived in Minneapolis Monday for a visit of a few days. Most of their time was spent on the golf links. Several social courtesies were extended the Kansas Citians.

Wednesday evening, a group of Twin City business and professional folk had Messrs. C. A. Franklin and Roy Garvin as honor guests at an informal dinner gathering at Phyllis Wheatley arranged in their honor by C. E. Newman. Among those who were present were Dr. W. D. Brown, W. S. Butler, Martin Brown, Raymond W. Cannon, Talmadge B. Carey, Dr. J. W. Crump, Gale P. Hilyer, Glesner Fowler, Rev. E. A. James, Rev. A. H. Lealtad, M. Love, Dr. M. T. Richardson, W. Squire Neal, Harry L. Scott, Milton Shanks, Miss L. O. Smith, W. M. Smith, C. W. Washington, McDuff Woodard, and Theodore Woodard.

Mr. Franklin made an impressive address expounding a practical and optimistic philosophy of professional and business conduct which the speaker felt should solve many of the Negro's so-called problems. His address made a deep impression on his hearers.
