COLQUITT TAX RATE
FIXED AT 11 MILLS

MOULTRIE, Sept. 24.—The general tax rate for Colquitt county as levied by the county commissioners is 11 mills, which is the same rate as was collected last year. It had been feared that an increase might be necessary because of a shrinkage of $400,000 in property values as returned for taxation. A mill and a half was levied to take care of the interest on the $300,000 worth of road bonds which have been sold. Colquitt also has a county wide school tax and this puts the total rate at 17 1-2 mills. Property owners in the Moultrie district do not have to pay the school tax.
