Full Text

Dr. John Simpkins,

During the latter illness of Mr. Smith you were called on to visit him and to consult with me, which you positively refused to do. Such conduct, in my opinion, is unaccountable, almost without precedent, and such as cannot be justified on any ground whatever. You attempted however, to give some reasons for your refusal, and among others, stated, I had treated you with so much illiberality, that you were determined not to practice in conjunction with me. This is certainly a very poor justification, even on the supposition, that, your charge against me be correct. I, however, deny having treated you illiberally, and call on you to state an instance, in which, as you suppose, I have so done.

R. H. HENRY.
