Army Renews Trucking Contract To Alaska Bases

SEATTLE —(AP)— A contract with the Alaska Freight Lines Co., to truck supplies over the Alaskan Highway to troops in the interior of the Territory has been extended indefinitely by the Seattle Port of Embarkation.

Port officials announced the extension today following a cost survey conducted by the Army general staff in Washington, D.C.

The original contract calling for the transport of perishable goods only has been amended to include dry and general cargo.
