Only 91 persons has signified directly or indirectly, their willingness to hold the office of recorder of deeds for the District of Columbia. A list of the names is now before the President.
No ladies are in the list.
The District has been without a recorder since last summer when Lincoln Johnson, resigned, following a gentle hint from the White House.
