The Intelligencer had a special dispatch yesterday to the effect that several gentlemen of the old Board of Directors of the Hospital for the Insane met in Weston last Wednesday, and attempted to proceed as though they were still in office. Doctor Camden, the Superintendent of the Asylum, doubtless treated them with courtesy as private gentlemen and citizens of the State, but very properly refused to recognize their authority to examine his books or do anything that mere visitors are not permitted to do. These gentlemen then proceeded, by solemn resolution, to oust Doctor Camden from the position of Medical Director of the Asylum and appoint Dr. Bland, of Weston, in his stead. The proceeding might well have occurred in one of the wards of the Hospital and we are not sure but that Dr. Camden would have been justifiable in clapping straight-jackets on his visitors and providing accommodation for them in the ward set apart for monomaniacs. Their symptoms resemble those of the Emperor of China, the Khan of Tartary, the King of the Elephants, and other distinguished, but harmless, guests of the Hospital for the Insane.
