ATLANTA, Georgia, March 2.-- At a meeting of unemployed workers, mostly Negroes, held under the auspices of the Trade Union Unity League, 83 Negro workers joined the Council of Unemployed, who, in addition to the 73 who joined a few days back, makes 156 who have joined the movement in the last week. Such is the report of the T.U.U.L. organizer, Amy Schechter.
All present pledged themselves to demonstrate on March 6, International Fighting Day Against Unemployment, for "work or wages." The demonstration will be held at the City Hall.
The police and spies stationed outside the meeting hall did not scare the workers, but on the contrary aroused their wrath, and the answer to these spies of the bosses, the stool pigeons of the mill and money barons, will be a mighty demonstration in the heart of the South, with both Negro and white workers side by side, fighting in class solidarity under the leadership of the T.U.U.L. and the Communist Party for their class demands.
