DOUGLAS, July 17.-Private Tucker, of the Eleventh infantry was shot and probably fatally wounded in Mexico by a Mexican who, with a companion, was approaching the international boundary. He said they refused to halt and claimed one dropped a rifle in the bushes. The Mexican claimed he was on Mexican soil when he shot. Calles telegraphed to Carranza a protest against the "desecration of Mexican soil."
