POETRY

THE following beautiful and sentimental lines, are taken from a little volume of Poems entitled, The Genius of Oblivion. The authoress, we are informed, is a widow, now living in Newport, in this State; and not in the most affluent circumstances; and hopes to realize something from the sale of this volume, to assist in supporting herself and educating her children. We feel assured, that she cannot, ought not, to be disappointed. We know not how we can more effectually call the attention of our readers to the subject, and induce them to purchase a copy of the work than by publishing the following delicate stanzas.
