Full Text

Mr. W. W. Booth, son of our esteemed professional friend, Dr. R. S. Booth, of this place, has distinguished himself in the success he has achieved as an amateur farmer on his father's place, one mile east of Summit. With the assistance of his little brothers, and occasional outside help, at a total cost of $60, he has made with two mules, 20 bales of cotton, 400 bushels of potatoes, and two barrels of molasses. His oat crop, at first promising, was almost destroyed by the rust. His crop of last year was quite as remarkable. Our young friend has not yet attained his majority, but his energy and ability has set a worthy example not only to the young men of South Mississippi, but to the oldest practical agriculturalist in the land.—Summit Times.
