PENNSYLVANIA.
York, July 17.

A new company of infantry has been raised in this borough. The young Ladies have presented it, with an elegant standard. The following is the young Ladies address:

"GENTLEMEN,

" In presenting to you this standard, we confide to your sacred keeping, our honor, our virtue, and our holy faith.

"If you expect ever to obtain our love, be assured that can only be obtained by bravely defending the liberties, the independence, and the religion of your country."

To which the Captain in the name of the Company replied:

"LADIES,

"We receive this standard as a most sacred and precious Deposit: and pledge to you our lives, our fortunes, and our honor -that we will defend your honor, your virtue, and your holy faith. But, when returned from the field of victory, you must permit us, fair ladies, to expect the reward of virtuous bravery-your Love."
The young Ladies of York town, presenting a flag to the company commanded by Richard Cutler Campbell, considering that our gallant young men are called upon, not only to defend the Liberty and Independence, and avenge the injured honor of their country,, but to preserve, also, the Religion of their Fathers, request of Mr. Fisher to paint over the arms of the United States, the Cross Of Christ, with this motto--

"IN THIS WE WILL CONQUER."

" We are the more earnest in this request, because, in the present revolutionary convulsion, Atheism goes hand in hand with anarchy and oppression.

"Whilst our infant hearts scarcely beat in our breasts, we were solemnly dedicated, at the Baptismal Font, to the Redeemer of the World. We have been educated in the Christian Faith : We will never relinquish it : and we will take to our arms and our hearts, none but those virtuous youths, who, in defending their country, fight under the auspices of a Banner and a Faith most dear to us."
