About 8 o'clock the report of two pistols was heard from a room on the second floor of a tavern in the Rue de la Madeleine, occupied for four days by a lady and gentleman from Paris. They were found dead, having killed themselves with pistols they held. Vandeputte, 20-year-old medical student from Paris, and unnamed female, about 20-22. They had expressed suicide intentions since arrival; triggered by arrival of his former mistress from Paris. Decent clothes only, few five centime pieces, pawn ticket for waistcoat. New small brass pistols, one burst.
