A Bruised Heart.
Up in Summit county Miss Susan Baughman of the years of discretion age of twenty five, had been addressed and caressed by a young soldier boy, Lewis Yerrick, whose pa is worth a cool $75,000 postal stamp, while her pa boasts of a true farm. The lad is two years the gal's junior. Susan says Lewis proposed marriage, which he denies. So, Susan's heart breaks, and she goes to court for a $5,000 healing plaster. A lot of old curmudgeons, no doubt, in the jury-box, insensible to the value of hearts-ease, only gave the disconsolate Susan $45—scarcely enough for a new style bonnet and Eugenie Chignon!
