Full Text

Col. Russell who has just returned from Virginia, gives us the pleasing information that the VIRGINIA ROAD from Kentucky to that State, is now in great forwardness, and will shortly be completed: When he left the party employed in cutting that road, they had opened it from Virginia to this side of Sandy river, and had not met with any very formidable difficulties. It is Col. Russell's opinion that the road will be completed agreeably to contract—that the distance will be more than one hundred miles shorter than by the present route—and that a good wagon road may be procured, provided the Assembly will comply with the wishes, and promote the interests of their country, by devoting a liberal portion of the public funds to that desirable object.
