Full Text
It may be expected that all the speculators in Indian claims, half breed Indians, who have been itching to get hold of the Indian lands, and many others who are interested in keeping up the "ancient regime," will congregate at Little Rock, in November, to leg for Col. Sevier. We hear of the gatherings of the clansmen and their dependents, preparatory to their trip. It all will not do, "the sign is out" and the people will carry the day. We heard a half breed Cherokee say, a short time since, that he was going down to Little Rock to electioneer for Col. Sevier, "We wonder if he has got back the thousand dollars he loaned to a certain Senator, on the day before the treaty of Amnesty was ratified?"
Go ahead gentlemen, you may all combine those who are interested in Indian speculations, are not as strong as those who are not engaged in this business.
