Astronomical Lectures.—We have only room just to call the attention of our readers in this town to the advertisement of Mr. Shelton in this day's paper, who proposes giving a short course of Lectures on the interesting and instructive science of Astronomy next week. As there are a good many pretenders roaming about the country in these days, it gives us pleasure to say that Mr. S. comes highly recommended for his literary attainments and scientific knowledge, from gentlemen abundantly qualified to judge.
