Bishop Phillips Is Visitor In Phoenix

Bishop Charles Henry Phillips, of the Colored Methodist Episcopal Church visited Phoenix. He is in his 83rd year. He preached at Lucy Phillips AME Church Sunday, September 28 on "Three Surprises." The congregation was lifted. He organized California nearly 36 years ago and is now en route to Los Angeles, where he will hold his annual conference with the Philip Temple AME Church on October 8. Many courtesies were shown him by members and friends of the community. While in the city he was house guest of Rev. and Mrs. L. Rucker, 112 S. Seventh St.
